Doh! Also should mention I meant comedi-0.7.73 which was what I needed. I also did comedilib because I didn't trust what might have been installed by the broken Ubuntu package. Both compiled without apparent error. Now up the learning curve of installation and kcomedilib. Why the two packages instead of just one? --wally. To follow-up. I downloaded comedilib-0.7.22 from comedi.org, extracted to my home directory, and .configure; make appeared to work. The Ubuntu repository package is broken and should be removed! --wally. I tried installing the comedi packages in the ubuntu 6.06 repositories all seemed to go well until I tried to build the unzipped comedi 0.7.70 source package. ./configure appears to succeed, but make fails quickly, with autoconf.h not found. /usr/include/linux/autoconf.h exists Any clues? Searching the Ubuntu support forums, it seems there is little interest in comedi and all I found were other cries for help without solutions. --wally.
